I currently teach International Baccalaureate English, IB Theory of Knowledge, English 11, and Creative Writing courses at a large high school. I received a certificate of excellence for a high score on the English Praxis II Exam (for teacher certification). My tutoring experience includes SAT/ACT preparation for the reading/writing sections, Honors English 9, middle school language arts, and middle school math. I scored in the 90th percentile on the SAT and the ACT. I scored 5 out of 5 on the AP Language and Composition exam, the AP Literature exam, and the AP US history exam. I have served as a Mentor Teacher for other teachers through the Teacher Advancement Program. I have professional copy writing experience. I love tutoring because I really enjoy helping students to improve their skills and achieve academic success. It really makes me feel accomplished to help others feel accomplished. The moment when a student feels that they have grasped a new skill or concept or has completed a challenging task successfully (and the smile that usually accompanies it) is the reason I continue to tutor.

Hobbies
I am 29 years old and enthusiastic about lots of hobbies. I have completed 4 half marathons, and while I'm not the fastest runner out there, I love the fitness aspect of the challenge. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming and water skiing on a small Indiana lake, playing with my family's golden retrievers, traveling, and babysitting for my three nieces. Most of all I love to spend time with my wonderful husband.
